Fifteen-year-old Abby, her back broken in an accident, learns to cope with her new physical reality in the hospital but does not do well upon returning home, withdrawing into a world of drugs that results in her family sending her to Equine Assisted Therapy where the relationship between a young girl and a pony inspires her to rejoin the world.
